Leoas Sotavento Netball Club (LSNC) require the highest standard of conduct from everyone involved in LSNC.  This Code of Conduct outlines expected behaviours of the membership (players, coaches, officials, volunteers and parents), to promote fair play, respect, and sportsmanship. 

The membership is expected to respect rules, officials, opponents, and fellow team members, as well as ensuring a positive and safe environment.

KEY PRINCIPLES

For Players:

​

• Playing by the rules:  Adhering to the rules of the game and respecting the decisions of umpires.

• Fair play and sportsmanship:  Conducting oneself in a responsible manner, showing respect for opponents, and avoiding unsportsmanlike behaviour.

• Respect for others:  Treating all participants with respect, regardless of their ability, gender, or background.

• Cooperation:  Working with coaches and teammates and appreciating the contributions of officials and volunteers.

• Safety:  Prioritizing the safety and well-being of oneself and others. 

• Honesty and integrity:  Being honest about injuries and other factors affecting performance.

For Coaches:

• Positive role model:  Demonstrating respect, professionalism, and fair play.

• Focus on development:  Emphasizing skill development, effort, and participation over winning.

• Safe environment:  Creating a positive and safe environment for players to learn and grow.

• Respect for officials:  Accepting and respecting the decisions of officials.

 

For Officials:

• Impartiality and consistency:  Making fair and consistent decisions.

• Safety and well-being:  Prioritizing the safety and well-being of players.

• Professionalism:  Maintaining a professional demeanour and conduct.

• Respect for all:  Treating all participants with respect and courtesy. 

 

For Parents/Spectators:

• Positive support:  Providing positive encouragement and support to players.

• Respect for officials:  Respecting the decisions of officials.

• Appropriate behaviour:  Refraining from abusive or disruptive behaviour.

• Integrity:  Acting with honesty and fairness in all aspects of the game.

• Responsibility:  Taking responsibility for one's actions and behaviour.

• Fairness:  Ensuring that all participants have an equal opportunity to participate and enjoy the game.

• Safety:  Prioritizing the safety and well-being of all participants. 

 

Disciplinary action in cases of Violations:

All players, coaches, officials, volunteers and parents are expected to abide by this code of conduct and promote it to others.  Members of LSNC understand that if they fail to follow the code, and their behaviour is deemed to endanger the integrity of the club that the Committee may take disciplinary action which may result in sanctions including, but not limited to, suspension or expulsion from the club.
